EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC announced on Monday it has added midfielder Brooklyn Raines from the Barcelona Residency Academy as a USL Academy signing. The transaction was completed prior to the USL Championship’s official roster freeze this past Friday.

“Brooklyn is a young player from the same Academy that helped develop Diego Luna,” commented Lowry. “It will be great for him to be in our environment for the remainder of the season so we can take a look at him up against our guys. He has a very bright future.

Raines, 16, joins Locomotive FC as a USL Academy signing, which allows him to compete in the Championship while retaining college eligibility. Raines joined the Barca Academy in 2018, making waves on his path to the professional ranks, earning call-ups with the USMNT U-15 team in 2019. Described as smart, confident, and tenacious, Raines is effective in possession in the defensive midfield while also being valuable in the attack.
