CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy II play host to Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park with the visitors looking to add another victory in their bid to finish with the best record in the Championship against a Los Dos side in need to a victory back on its home turf. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET.

The @LAGalaxyII (6-10-5, 23pts) suffered a 4-2 defeat last Sunday afternoon against San Diego Loyal SC and subsequently dropped to seventh in the Pacific Division standings after Oakland Roots SC’s midweek victory in Las Vegas. Los Dos pulled within a goal in the second half at Torero Stadium as Kai Koreniuk found the net just past the hour-mark, but another pair of goals by the hosts saw them put the game away before Remi Cabral notched a late consolation. The Galaxy II remain seven points out of the playoff positions with 11 games to go in the regular season but have seen positive performances this year by three of its young standouts. Rookie forward Preston Judd is tied for sixth in the Championship with 11 goals this season, while Jorge Hernandez has notched nine goals and four assists while defender Josh Drack has two goals and six assists, making them players Rising FC will have to watch for.

@PHXRisingFC (13-3-5, 44pts) took a 3-1 victory last Sunday afternoon against the Tacoma Defiance as Darren Mattocks scored his first two goals for the club in his first start. The win saw Phoenix become the first visiting side to defeat Tacoma at Cheney Stadium this season and extended their lead in the Pacific Division to 11 points ahead of San Diego Loyal SC at the top of the standings. Rising FC is now vying to finish with the most points in the Championship during the regular season, where it currently sits two points behind the Atlantic Division leader Tampa Bay Rowdies with a game in hand and 11 games to play in the regular season. After notching an assist on one of Mattocks’ goals last Sunday, Aodhan Quinn is now also one assist away from equaling Jorge Herrera for fifth place in the Championship’s all-time regular season assists list having recorded 34 in his career so far.
