HERRIMAN, Utah – Real Monarchs SLC and San Antonio FC will both be hoping to return to winning ways on Saturday night at Zions Bank Stadium after each side suffered a setback in midweek, including a defeat that ended a four-game undefeated streak for San Antonio as it remained in the middle of the playoff battle in the USL Championship’s Mountain Division. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET.

@RealMonarchs (4-13-4, 16pts) fell 2-0 on Wednesday night to Rocky Mountain rival Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field for the third consecutive defeat for the side overall. The visitors were unable to get much going in the attacking third, recording only two shots on target for the contest, continuing the up-and-down form that the club has seen in the attacking third this season to sit tied for the fewest goals in the Championship this season with 20. The Monarchs will face San Antonio for the second time in short order after having fallen 3-2 when the sides met at Toyota Field on September 1, but the side did earn a 1-1 draw when San Antonio last visited Zions Bank Stadium on June 26 when Douglas Martinez Jr. – now on loan with San Diego Loyal SC – scored for the hosts.

@SanAntonioFC (8-6-7, 31pts) saw its undefeated run come to an end at the hands of Copa Tejas rival Austin Bold FC on Tuesday night as the hosts took a 2-1 victory at Bold Stadium to edge within two points of SAFC in the crowded Mountain Division standings. San Antonio continues what it a four-game road trip overall in a 12-day span still in third position as the weekend begins, but will be looking for a sharper performance as Head Coach Alen Marcina tries to keep his squad fresh in a tricky part of the schedule. San Antonio’s goal against Austin came from Justin Dhillon, who now has five goals this season, tied for second on the team behind Nathan Fogaca with eight. After putting together a strong performance against the Monarchs to start the month, San Antonio will be hoping for something similar and another three points toward its playoff push.
