CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Battery will return to action on Tuesday night as they play host to the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Patriots Point with the visitors looking to add to a five-game shutout streak that has seen it take three consecutive victories and the Battery hoping to jump back into the playoff positions in the Atlantic Division. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

The @Chas_Battery (8-7-4, 28pts) currently sit in fifth place in the Atlantic, level on points with the Charlotte Independence, after their contest last Wednesday night against Hartford Athletic was postponed due to the inclement weather in the northeast last week. The side’s last outing saw it play to a 0-0 draw with Orange County SC on August 28 as Joe Kuzminsky recorded his fourth shutout of the season. Charleston has been led in attack this season by young Jamaican forward Nicque Daley with five goals and Italian mid-season arrival Claudio Repetto with six tallies, but the side has begun to return to health overall in recent weeks with midfielder Robbie Crawford returning to the starting lineup to work alongside playmaker Zeiko Lewis, who is tied for third in the league with seven assists on 33 key passes this season.

The @TampaBayRowdies (14-6-1, 43pts) are looking to add to a five-game shutout streak that has overall reached 531 minutes, the eighth-longest in the USL Championship’s history. Tampa Bay took a 3-0 victory against Oakland Roots SC on Friday night at Al Lang Stadium as Sebastian Guenzatti notched his first goal since the end of July for his 10th of the season, breaking a six-game run without a goal. The shutout streak for the Rowdies’ back line has bolstered goalkeeper Evan Louro’s bid for the league’s Golden Glove award as he now sits with a league-leading 10 shutouts and a 0.71 goals-against average. With the Rowdies having 11 games to go, Louro could have an outside chance at equaling the Championship’s single-season record of 15 shutouts, set by current Canadian Men’s National Team goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau in the 2018 season. With a win, the Rowdies would move into a position with the most points in the Championship and a two-point lead on current Atlantic Division leader Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, which has played three games more than the Rowdies after the past weekend’s action.
