As the race for the playoffs began to pick up steam during the second half of the campaign, the month of August produced another spectacular selection of saves from the USL Championship’s goalkeepers, who recorded more than 500 saves and more than 30 shutouts across the month. Now the four winners of the past month’s Save of the Week award have advanced on, and you get to vote for the one that will earn the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Month award.
Voting will continue through 12 p.m. ET on Monday, September 6
Colin Miller (RGV) - #SLCvRGV, 8/4/21: Preserving a shutout late in the game, Colin Miller’s reflex save to deny Real Monarchs SLC’s Sam Brown and a powerful header was impressive after coming on to deputize for Tyler Deric late in the first half for his Toros debut.
Patrick Rakovsky (OC) - #PHXvOC, 8/14/21: Patrick Rakovsky put on a stellar display for OCSC against Phoenix Rising FC that was highlighted by an outstanding recovery to swat away a chipped finish by Aodhan Quinn to send the ball just wide of the left post.
Andre Rawls (PHX) - #PHXvSAC, 8/21/21: Andre Rawls earned Team of the Week honors in Week 18 for his nine-save shutout against Sacramento that was highlighted by a tremendous stop on Republic FC’s Cameron Iwasa and his close-range header.
Parker Siegfried (LOU) - #BHMvLOU, 8/28/21: In a top-two clash in the Central Division to close the month, Parker Siegfried anticipated the cross well and kept himself big to smother a chance for Legion FC’s leading scorer Neco Brett at the top of the six-yard area.
