KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Sporting Kansas City II will welcome Memphis 901 FC on Sunday evening at Children’s Mercy Park with the visitors looking to bounce back from a midweek victory and boost their postseason hopes in the USL Championship’s Central Division. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

@SportingKCII (3-12-6, 15pts) earned a 1-1 draw against Indy Eleven in its most recent outing as Wilson Harris scored a first-half goal to put the hosts ahead before Indy hit back early in the second half. SKC II held on for a point late on as John Pulskamp recorded five saves while Graham Smith made a key late goal line clearance to deny Jared Timmer in stoppage time. Sporting is winless in its last seven outings overall, however, with its last victory coming on July 10 against Atlanta United 2. Enoch Mushagalusa has led the side with six goals, while Jake Davis – who recently signed a Homegrown Player contract with Sporting Kansas City – has notched four assists.

@Memphis901FC (5-6-6, 21pts) will try to get back on a winning track after suffering a 2-1 defeat against FC Tulsa on Wednesday night at ONEOK Field. Kyle Smith scored in the 87th minute for the visitors to level the score after Tulsa had taken the lead inside the final 15 minutes, but the hosts struck again in stoppage time to grab all three points. Murphy’s goal was his 11th of the season and marked his sixth consecutive game with a goal, two back of the Championship record of eight consecutive games with a goal set by Hadji Barry with SKC II in the 2018 season. Memphis enters this weekend’s action four points out of the playoff positions but has at least two games in hand on all three teams sitting directly above the side in the division standings.
