Orange County SC Acquires Ben Mines on Loan from FC Cincinnati

IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Monday it had acquired midfielder Ben Mines on loan from Major League Soccer’s FC Cincinnati for the remainder of the 2021 USL Championship season. The loan agreement is pending league and federation approval.

Mines joined FC Cincinnati last offseason, with the 21-year-old having spent the first five seasons of his professional career in the New York Red Bulls organization. A former Academy standout, Mines made his debut for the Red Bulls II in the USL Championship in 2016 and went on to make 48 regular season appearances for the club recording two goals and three assists while adding another four appearances in the USL Championship Playoffs that saw him score in the 2017 postseason.

Mines made six appearances for the Red Bulls in Major League Soccer, scoring on his debut on March 10, 2018 against the Portland Timbers. He has yet to make his debut for FC Cincinnati this season.
