USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Month – July

The second full month of the season saw the Championship’s goalkeepers shine, which gets your vote?

The third full month of the season produced some outstanding goalkeeping performance, which saw goalkeepers across the USL Championship record more than 500 saves and almost 40 shutouts across July. Now the five winners of the past month’s Save of the Week award have advanced on, and you get to vote for the one that will earn the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Month award.

Voting will continue through 12 p.m. ET on Monday, August 9

USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Month Finalists – July

Justin vom Steeg (LA) - #PHXvLA, 7/3/21: Justin vom Steeg produced a remarkable point-blank save to deny Phoenix Rising FC’s Solomon Asante on Saturday night, staying up long enough to his left hand to swat the ball wide of the post.

Alex Tambakis (NM) - #NMvCOS, 7/9/21: Alex Tambakis kept the game level midway through the second half with a full-stretch save that kept out a strong header to the left corner by Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Michee Ngalina.

Jeffrey Dewsnup (SLC) - #ATXvSLC, 7/18/21: The 17-year-old showed excellent composure after Bold FC’s Sean Okoli hit the crossbar with a header to recover and deny the rebound volley by Fabien Garcia as part of his four-save performance.

Joe Kuzminsky (CHS) - #CHSvCLT, 7/23/21: The Championship’s Player of the Week made a key one-handed save on a penalty kick by the Independence’s Sylvain Marveaux as part of his shutout in Charleston’s 2-0 victory at Patriots Point.

Jeff Caldwell (HFD) - #PITvHFD, 7/31/21: Jeff Caldwell continued his outstanding season with this double-save against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, first denying Mekeil Williams’ header before recovering to turn away Albert Dikwa on the rebound.
