OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC and Memphis 901 FC will continue their pursuit of a place in the USL Championship Playoffs as they square off on Saturday night at Taft Stadium separated by just a point going into the weekend’s action in the Central Division. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.

@EnergyFC (4-6-6, 18pts) fell 2-1 to Louisville City FC last Saturday night to drop below the playoff line in the Central Division as Villyan Bijev’s late penalty kick didn’t spark a comeback for the visitors at Lynn Family Stadium. OKC is now in seventh place in the Central Division standings but is level on points with sixth-placed Atlanta United 2 and one point back of a trio of teams meaning a victory back on home turf could send the side as high as third place by the end of the weekend’s action. Bijev’s goal was his team-leading sixth of the season as his arrival this past offseason has provided a positive impact for the side, which also included scoring the lone goal when Energy FC visited Memphis in the most recent clash between these sides on June 19, a 1-0 win that marked OKC’s first three points of the season.

@Memphis901FC (5-4-4, 19pts) has rebounded since that result and is currently on a five-game undefeated streak after goals by Kyle Murphy and Michael Salazar earned a 2-1 victory against Sporting Kansas City II at Children’s Mercy Park last Sunday evening. 901 FC has now won three of its last four games while Murphy recorded four goals in four appearances in July to earn nomination for the Championship’s Player of the Month award. Memphis is now on its longest undefeated run in club history, surpassing a four-game run in 2019, and it has reached that point to a degree through solid defensive performances that have seen 901 FC conceded only twice in its past four games as on-loan goalkeeper Kyle Morton has posted a 90% save percentage and recorded 18 saves and two shutouts.
