KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Louisville City FC will try to add to its lead at the top of the USL Championship’s Central Division as it visits Sporting Kansas City II on Wednesday night at Children’s Mercy Park with both teams having earned a point from their most recent outings. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

@SportingKCII (3-7-5, 14pts) played to a scoreless draw on Saturday night against OKC Energy FC at Taft Stadium as goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh recorded a four-save shutout. SKC II has recorded shutouts in back-to-back games after a 1-0 win against Atlanta United 2 in its prior outing and has taken seven points overall from its past four games but slipped into last place in the Central Division standings on Saturday night as it reaches the midway point of its season on Wednesday with only three wins overall this campaign. The lone defeat in that four-game run came to LouCity on July 2 as the visitors took a 4-2 victory at Children’s Mercy Park.

@LouCityFC (8-3-3, 27pts) missed out on a chance to take a good road victory last Friday night as it was held in a 1-1 draw against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field. Antoine Hoppenot scored his first goal of the season for the visitors midway through the second half but the Switchbacks grabbed an equalizer with three minutes to go to deny LouCity all three points. Louisville’s prior trip to SKC II saw the side break the game open midway through the second half as Brian Ownby recorded a goal and assist to go with a goal in either half for Kyle Greig. Louisville sits two points ahead of Birmingham Legion FC at the top of the Central Division and has won three games in a row and five out of their past six games against SKC II.
