Eleven, 901 FC duel to 1-1 draw at Carroll Stadium

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indy Eleven and Memphis 901 FC grappled to a 1-1 draw in front of a supportive crowd as the hosts fail to take victory in their fifth straight game at Michael A. Carroll Stadium, while the visitors were able to extend their unbeaten streak to three games to match their longest run of the season.

A mixed bag of chances for both sides in the first half, the pair traded opportunities midway through the opening 45 minutes with both sides unable to capitalize. Indy's best look early on came for Peter-Lee Vassell, who when set up in the 21st with an opportunity just inside the 18-yard-box, chipped his shot into savable territory for 901 FC 'keeper Kyle Morton. Indy again came knocking six minutes later when forward Jordan Hamilton chased a ball into the opposition box and did well to bring it down, only to find Morton again in front of him as he repelled the shot from close range.

Early into the second half, though, the hosts would find their opener through midfielder Nick Moon, who received a pass from Vassell and got enough on his effort to bundle it over the line past Morton. However, Memphis took little time to respond when forward Michael Salazar chested down a deflected effort from midfielder Laurent Kissedou and poked an effort by Indy shotstopper Bobby Edwards for the club's equalizer.

Both sides would have an opportunity to test the opposition once more, but Moon's effort in the 69th minute was well stopped by Morton, and a long-range shot from Memphis' Kadeem Dacres was palmed away by Edwards.

Ultimately settling for a point apiece, the result leaves Indy in fourth in the Central Division, while Memphis creeped up to seventh in the division having played two less matches.
