PHOENIX – Phoenix Rising FC returns home to Wild Horse Pass on Saturday night looking to maintain its place at the top of the Championship’s Pacific Division as it hosts the LA Galaxy II, which is looking to end a tough recent run of form. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET.

@PHXRisingFC (7-2-2, 23pts) played to a 1-1 draw on the road with the Charlotte Independence last Saturday night before its scheduled game on Wednesday against Oakland Roots SC was postponed, giving the side additional rest ahead of its clash with Los Dos. David Egbo scored his second goal of the season for Rising FC in Charlotte, but the side was unable to push on to take all three points in its second trip to the East Coast this season. Phoenix has won five out of six games and is undefeated at home this campaign, however, including a 3-0 victory against the Galaxy II on July 3 that saw co-team scoring leaders Solomon Asante and Santi Moar each find the net. Asante is two goals away from reaching 50 regular season goals for his career in the Championship, a mark that could be within reach with the Ghanaian having recorded six goals and five assists in eight regular-season games previously against Los Dos, the most he has scored against any side individually since arriving in the Championship prior to the 2018 season.

The @LAGalaxyII (3-6-4, 13pts) have struggled for form of late and are winless in their past six games after a 1-1 draw against Tacoma Defiance last Sunday night at Dignity Health Sports Park that saw the hosts benefit from an own goal early in the second half to earn a point against its playoff position rivals. Los Dos has only scored five goals in that span, with four coming from forward Preston Judd and the other from Jorge Hernandez, who has cooled since a fast start to the season. The Galaxy II have also had difficulty against Phoenix in recent years with this month’s defeat the 11th in a row the side has received at the hands of Rising FC after winning five of the first 10 games between the clubs after they each joined the league in the 2014 season. Despite its downturn in form, though, Los Dos is still level on points with Las Vegas Lights FC and Tacoma Defiance in the middle of the Pacific Division, meaning a point on the road could be very valuable in the big picture.
