TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced tonight the contest between Birmingham Legion FC and Atlanta United 2 had been abandoned at halftime due to a heavy rain and lightning that forced the teams from beginning the second half.
Under the USL Championship’s rules, the game – which was tied 1-1 upon its suspension – will be replayed in its entirety from the opening kickoff.
A date for the rescheduled contest will be announced in the coming days as it becomes available.
