ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rowdies will look to add to its home winning streak to start the 2021 USL Championship season as it plays host to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at Al Lang Stadium on Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The @TampaBayRowdies (6-1-0, 18pts) recorded their fifth consecutive home win to start the season last Friday night as Foster Langsdorf recorded his first goal for the club after joining on loan from Minnesota United FC with five minutes to go. The contest also saw Sebastian Guenzatti record his fifth goal of the season, putting him one off the league-lead, but also saw the Rowdies concede first for the second consecutive game. Tampa Bay has outscored opponents 12-3 on home turf this season, winning each of its past three victories at Al Lang Stadium by a 2-1 scoreline. The side claimed a 3-0 victory against Riverhounds SC when the sides first met as Steevan Dos Santos was among the scorers against his former club, but the Cape Verde forward will be absent for Saturday’s meeting, the fourth consecutive game he will have missed since suffering an injury against Miami FC on May 22.

@RiverhoundsSC (3-3-2, 11pts) has found its way since that first encounter, however, and battled through to a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night against Indy Eleven to open Week 9 with its third win in its last five games. Tommy Williamson scored the only goal of the game in the first half before the Hounds had to hold on down a man after Jelani Peters was sent off for his second yellow card of the game just past the hour-mark. Pittsburgh rotated its lineup notably against Indy, bringing on regular starters such as Kenardo Forbes, Alex Dixon and Mekeil Williams as substitutes while Jake Leeker deputized for Danny Vitiello in goal, which should give the Hounds a relatively full-strength starting lineup as they look to get a result at a venue they have never claimed victory at in four previous visits.
