MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC will host Atlanta United 2 in its home opener for the 2021 season on Wednesday night at AutoZone Park as the Central Division sides meet for the second time this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.

@Memphis901FC (1-2-2, 5pts) is coming off its second loss of the season this past Saturday, a 3-0 defeat to Louisville City FC that saw all three goals come for the hosts after 901 FC was reduced to 10 men following a red card to Skylar Thomas in the 57th minute. Thomas will be available for Wednesday's contest, however, following the overturn of his one-game suspension by the Independent Review Panel after a review of the red card incident. Head Coach Ben Pirmann’s side has shown signs of promise so far this campaign, though, having earned a 2-2 draw against second-placed Atlanta when it visited Fifth Third Bank Stadium on May 23 before recording victory against Indy Eleven at Michael A. Carroll Stadium to start June. Four different players have found the net so far for the side, which will be looking to claim its first points in a home opener in its short history. In the two prior seasons, Memphis fell to the Tampa Bay Rowdies (2019) and Indy Eleven (2020).

@atlutd2 (3-2-3, 12pts) has reached the end of the first quarter of its season solidly in playoff contention and is undefeated in its last two outings after rallying twice in a 2-2 draw with Sporting Kansas City II last Wednesday night as Coleman Gannon scored his second goal of the season. Atlanta is tied for fourth in the Championship with 13 goals this season as Aiden McFadden sits with a team-high five goals, and the side has made the most of its chances sitting third in the league with a 22 percent shot conversion rate. Atlanta took points from its only prior visit to AutoZone Park, earning a 1-0 win in the 2019 season as goalkeeper Dylan Castanheira recorded an eight-save shutout to hold off the hosts.
