Tulsa looks to return to form on home turf in third meeting with SKC II this season

TULSA, Okla. – FC Tulsa will hope to return to form on Wednesday night as it plays host to Sporting Kansas City II at ONEOK Field in the third meeting between the clubs this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

@FCTulsa (3-3-0, 9pts) is on a three-game losing streak as it returns home after winning its first three games of the season but showed signs of regaining its early-season form in a narrow 2-1 defeat to Birmingham Legion FC in its most recent outing on June 6. Forward Dario Suarez scored a late goal as the visitors recorded nine shots on target against Birmingham at BBVA Field, but were unable to find a decisive second goal as Legion FC’s Matt VanOekel stymied their late efforts for an equalizer. Tulsa could see defender Jorge Corrales return to the lineup from international duty with Cuba on Wednesday night, but leading scorer Joaquin Rivas remains with El Salvador as it faces St. Kitts & Nevis on Tuesday in the second leg of its 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying contest for a place in the final stage of Concacaf Qualifying.

@SportingKCII (1-3-4, 7pts) is on a three-game undefeated streak as it arrives in Tulsa, with its lone victory having come against its hosts on Wednesday night in a 4-1 victory back on June 2 at Children’s Mercy Park. SKC II rallied from an early deficit as four different players found the net to even this year’s regular-season series after Tulsa had claimed a 2-0 victory when the sides first met at ONEOK Field on May 1. Sporting most recently earned a 2-2 draw with Atlanta United 2 that saw Enoch Mushagalusa record his first two goals the season, and the 21-year-old Congolese winger has proven one of the more entertaining players to watch this season sitting tied for second in the Championship with 18 completed dribbles. SKC II had not previously lost to Tulsa in the all-time series between the club before its defeat on May 1, and the visitors will be hoping to continue their upward move in the Central Division after its positive recent attacking form.
