LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC and Birmingham Legion FC meet for the second time in the 2021 season in a top-three clash in the Central Division with the visitors currently on a four-game winning streak as they arrive at Lynn Family Stadium on Wednesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

@LouCityFC (3-2-1, 10pts) snapped a two-game losing run this past Saturday night as goals by Wesley Charpie, Cameron Lancaster and Brian Ownby earned a 3-0 victory against Memphis 901 FC before a crowd of 12,115 fans at Lynn Family Stadium as the venue was opened to full capacity for the first time in its history. Charpie’s goal was his first for the club since joining prior to the 2020 season, while Lancaster’s was his second of the season as he returned to action as a second-half substitute after a minor injury. Wednesday’s game could see LouCity forward Kyle Greig reach 200 regular-season appearances in the Championship should he see action, with the veteran set to become the sixth player in league history to reach the mark, with current LouCity teammate George Davis IV one of the five prior players to do so.

@BHMLegion (5-2-1, 16pts) reeled off a fourth consecutive win on Saturday night as a late goal by JJ Williams lifted the side to a 2-1 victory against OKC Energy FC at Taft Stadium. The goal was Williams’ first of the season and added to an earlier assist in the contest on a goal by Neco Brett, which stood as the Jamaican’s 50th regular-season goal in the Championship for his career. Brett has scored three goals in the past two games to move into a tie for the league-lead with six goals this season, and Williams has provided the assist on two of the tallies. Brett also found the net when Legion FC previously visited Louisville this season in a 1-1 draw on May 8. Legion FC goalkeeper Matt VanOekel, meanwhile, is tied for the league-lead with three shutouts this season and has posted a 0.75 goals-against average and an 81.3 save percentage in a stellar start to the campaign.
