CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Battery and New York Red Bulls II will meet for the third time this season on Saturday night at Patriots Point having finished all square in their prior two meetings, and with the Battery looking to build on a positive midweek result. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

The @Chas_Battery (1-1-2, 5pts) earned their first victory of the season on Tuesday night as Burke Fahling’s first goal in the professional ranks proved enough to earn a 1-0 win against Loudoun United FC at Segra Field. The contest saw Battery goalkeeper Joe Kuzminsky record his 25th regular-season shutout in the Championship, a mark he reached in 66 appearances. Kuzminsky has recorded the most shutouts in the league among active goalkeepers since the start of the 2018 season, four more than El Paso Locomotive FC’s Logan Ketterer and Birmingham Legion FC’s Matt VanOekel. Charleston should see the return from international duty of defender AJ Paterson on Saturday night after he made two appearances for Grenada in FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifying over the past week.

@NYRBII (1-5-2, 5pts) will try to rebound from a tough defeat last time out that saw the side fall 7-0 to Hartford Athletic at Dillon Stadium last Saturday night. Wikelman Carmona hit the woodwork twice in the first half for the visitors, but after the side conceded a pair of late goals in the first half things got away from the Red Bulls II in the second half as they suffered their heaviest defeat in club history. New York will hope to put in a strong display as it returns to Charleston for the second time this season having still yet to suffer a road defeat in the series after a 2-2 draw when the side last met on May 23, when Roald Mitchell and Mandela Egbo both found the net as the visitors rallied from a two-goal halftime deficit.
