Legion FC returns home looking to add to winning streak as Tulsa tries to snap recent slide


Birmingham Legion FC's Neco Brett and FC Tulsa's Modou Jadama could square off on Sunday evening as Legion FC plays host to the first meeting between the clubs in their histories.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham Legion FC will look for a third consecutive victory on Sunday evening as it plays host to FC Tulsa at BBVA Field with the visitors looking to snap a two-game losing streak. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

@BHMLegion (3-2-1, 10pts) took back-to-back victories in Week 6 as Bruno Lapa scored the game-winner in a pair of 1-0 victories against OKC Energy FC and Atlanta United 2. The goals were the Brazilian’s first of the season and saw him earn Championship Player of the Week honors. Legion FC is tied for the league-lead with three shutouts, with goalkeeper Matt VanOekel currently sitting tied for third in the Championship with 17 saves this season. Lapa also sits third in the Championship with 13 Key Passes so far this season, while Jonathan Dean sits tied for 10th with 10. Legion FC will be without a pair of players this weekend with forward Junior Flemmings (Jamaica) and midfielder Jaden Servania (Puerto Rico) both away on international duty as it faces Tulsa for the first time.

@FCTulsa (3-2-0, 9pts) is looking to rebound from a two-game losing streak, meanwhile, that continued on Wednesday night in a 4-1 defeat against Sporting Kansas City II that saw Lucas Coutinho score his first goal for the club to open the scoring before the hosts reeled off four consecutive goals. Tulsa has now conceded nine times in the past two games after conceding only once in its opening three games of the campaign and sits with a cumulative Expected Goals Against mark of 9.07xGA this season according to American Soccer Analysis, seventh-highest in the league. The side will also be without a pair of players on Sunday due to international duty with forward Joaquin Rivas (El Salvador) and defender Jorge Corrales (Cuba) selected for FIFA World Cup Qualifying.
