USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Month – April/May

The opening weeks of the season produces some top saves in the Championship, which gets your vote?

The opening weeks of the USL Championship’s 2021 season produced almost 400 saves and 35 shutouts across the league, and a landmark moment as the Charlotte Independence’s Brandon Miller became the third goalkeeper to reach 40 regular-season shutouts in league history. We’ve selected five of the best saves from April and May, now you get to vote for the one that will earn the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Month award.

Voting will continue through 12 p.m. ET on Monday, June 7

USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Month Finalists – April/May

Vicente Reyes (ATL) - #LOUvATL, 4/24/21: 17-year-old Vicente Reyes produced an outstanding reflex stop to keep his side from conceding an own goal during the first half of its season-opening clash with Louisville City FC.

Sean Lewis (TUL) - #INDvTUL 5/8/21: Sean Lewis recorded his second consecutive shutout for Tulsa with a pair of saves, including this second-half denial of Indy Eleven’s Patrick Seagrist on a header from close range at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

Jeffrey Dewsnup (SLC) - #SLCvLA, 5/14/21: 16-year-old Jeffrey Dewsnup pulled off an exceptional double-save against the Galaxy II, first keeping out a shot by Daniel Aguirre before denying Axel Picazo on the rebound.

Joe Kuzminsky (CHS) - #CHSvNY 5/23/21: Joe Kuzminsky dueled regularly with the New York Red Bulls II’s Roald Mitchell at Patriots Points including this big one-on-one stop as the Battery goalkeeper got quickly off his line to save.

Matt Cardone (SA) - #SAvRGV, 5/29/21: Matt Cardone produced an excellent one-on-one save to deny Rio Grande Valley FC’s Baboucarr Nije after he had stolen possession from the SAFC defense as part of a three-save performance.
