Red Bulls II return home looking to build undefeated streak as Hounds seek first win

The New York Red Bulls II's Roald Mitchell and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC's Mekeil Williams could square off on Friday night as the Red Bulls II host the Hounds at MSU Soccer Park.

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls II will welcome Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC to MSU Soccer Park looking to build on a two-game undefeated streak on Friday night with the visitors aiming for their first win of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

@NYRBII (1-2-2, 5pts) earned four points in the past week of action, including rallying for a 2-2 draw on the road against the Charleston Battery last Sunday afternoon. 18-year-old Roald Mitchell shone in his first professional start for the side, scoring the game-tying goal having previously earned a penalty kick after New York had trailed by two goals at halftime to lead the comeback. Mandela Egbo leads the side with three goals, meanwhile, with all three having come from the penalty spot. Each team has claimed six victories previously in the all-time series, but the Red Bulls II have held a decisive edge at home, going 5-2-0 against the Hounds previously.

@RiverhoundsSC (0-2-1, 1pt) is still looking for its first win of the season after suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to the Charlotte Independence last Saturday night at Highmark Stadium. Aided by playing with a man-advantage for the final 25 minutes after Charlotte was reduced to 10 men, Pittsburgh applied consistent pressure throughout the second half but was unable to find an answer to Irvin Parra’s first-half goal. The Hounds have scored only once so far this season but have been creating chances consistently in their past two outings. The side currently sits at an Expected Goals mark of 3.60 according to American Soccer Analysis and will have veteran playmaker Kenardo Forbes available for selection again on Friday night after serving his one-game suspension for a red card against Hartford Athletic on May 15.
