Los Dos look to continue undefeated streak as it hosts Oakland for first official contest

The LA Galaxy II's Jorge Hernandez will try to add to his three goals so far this season as he faces Oakland Roots SC and defender Tarek Morad on Sunday evening at Dignity Health Sports Park.

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy II will look to add to a four-game undefeated streak on Sunday evening as it welcomes Oakland Roots SC to Dignity Health Sports Park for the first league meeting between the clubs. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

The @LAGalaxyII (2-1-2, 8pts) rallied to earn a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City II on Wednesday night as Jorge Hernandez recorded his third goal of the season. Hernandez has been one of the bright attacking players in the Championship so far this season, and leads the league going into the weekend with 11 key passes. Los Dos goalkeeper Justin Vom Steeg is also tied for the league-lead with two shutouts as the side has conceded only three goals in its five outings this season, a record it will look to continue against Roots SC.

@OaklandRootsSC (0-1-0, 0pts) returns to action after a week off on Sunday for its second game of the season. Oakland suffered a 3-0 defeat to Phoenix Rising FC in its opening game of the season on May 8 and will be hoping to tighten up after defensive mistakes proved costly against the defending Western Conference Title holder. Roots SC forward Jeremy Bokila had some good moments against Rising FC, though, and both he and Tyler Blackwood will be hoping to register Oakland’s first goal in the Championship, with Blackwood having scored once previously in six appearances against Los Dos.
