Indy returns to action against Sporting, which arrives after earning a midweek point

Indy Eleven's Manuel Arteaga and Sporting Kansas City II's Aljaz Dzankic could square off as the sides meet for the first time this season on Saturday night at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven returns to action on Saturday as it plays host to Sporting Kansas City II for the first time this season at Michael A. Carroll Stadium looking to rebound from defeat last time out. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

@IndyEleven (1-1-0, 3pts) plays its second home game of the campaign looking to get back in the win column after suffering a 2-0 defeat to FC Tulsa on May 8 in its most recent contest. The Boys in Blue outshot their visitors 16-4 over the contest but struggled to convert putting only two shots on target as Ayoze hit the woodwork with a late penalty kick that could have set up a big finish. Indy could be looking for a little revenge on Sporting, which in their last meeting of 2020 took a 2-1 victory that ended up costing Indy a place in the 2020 USL Championships Playoffs.

@SportingKCII (0-2-2, 2pts) picked up its second point of the season on Wednesday night as it took a 1-1 draw on the road against the LA Galaxy II. Dominik Resetar scored a second-half opener for the visitors at Dignity Health Sports Park, but Los Dos hit back to equalizer and share the points. Sporting has yet to find victory this season but split the four-game series against the Boys in Blue with two wins apiece in 2020, all of which were played at Indy’s former home of Lucas Oil Stadium.
