Atlanta returns home after dramatic draw to host undefeated Tulsa at Fifth Third Bank Stadium

Atlanta United 2's Matias Benitez and FC Tulsa's Jorge Corrales will lead their sides into action on Wednesday night as Tulsa looks to continue its perfect start to the 2021 season.

KENNESAW, Ga. – Atlanta United 2 will look to build on a dramatic last outing when it plays host to FC Tulsa on Wednesday night for its home opener to the 2021 USL Championship stadium at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

@atlutd2 (1-1-1, 4pts) makes its home debut after claiming a 2-2 draw on Sunday evening against OKC Energy FC at Taft Stadium. The visitors went behind twice, but second-half goals by Matias Benitez and an 89th-minute equalizer by Tyler Wolff saw Atlanta earn a thrilling point late on. Wednesday night will be the first meeting between Atlanta and Tulsa in the Championship, and the hosts will look to continue a steady home record in their history that has seen them go 15W-17L-10D all-time while claiming some notable wins along the way. Last year saw Atlanta earn a home win against Miami FC, while 2019 brought victories against both the Charleston Battery and Indy Eleven on its home turf.

@FCTulsa (3-0-0, 9pts) will hope to avoid falling into that trap as it looks to extend its perfect start to the season. Tulsa returns to action after having a bye in Week 4, but has quickly built a lead in the Championship’s Central Division, sitting five points ahead of Louisville City FC, Birmingham Legion FC and Atlanta three games in. Tulsa came away with a 2-0 victory on the road against Indy Eleven in its most recent outing as El Salvador international Joaquin Rivas notched his second two-goal game of the season on May 8. Rivas enters Wednesday night tied with San Antonio FC’s Santiago Patino for the league-lead on four goals, while Cuban defender Jorge Corrales is tied for the league-lead with two assists while also recording five key passes.
