AUSTIN, Texas – Austin Bold FC announced on Thursday it had re-signed forwards Aldo Quintanilla and Nathaniel Adamolekun and the return of defender Gustavo Rissi for his third season at the club on loan from Brazilian side Cruzeiro. All signings are pending league and federation approval. Per club policy, terms of individual contracts will not be released.

“All three of these players are amazing young talents that consistently impressed us throughout last season. Even if they struggled to find playing time, they worked hard at every single training session and did everything needed to help the team. We wanted to reward those types of personalities by bringing them back,” said Bold FC Head Coach Marcelo Serrano. “Nathaniel, Aldo, and Gustavo all have the ability to compete for spots in the starting lineup if they continue to work hard and improve in their individual roles. Their hunger can be an asset to the squad.”

Adamolekun joined Bold FC in 2020 and made three appearances after spending a season with Austrian club FC Pinzgau Saalfelden. The Austin native was a part of Orlando City SC’s inaugural MLS academy before playing collegiately at NC-Chapel Hill in 2016. The Austin native’s European career began in Portugal with CD Feirense in 2017 and on loan at FC Pedras Rubras in 2018.

“I’m extremely excited to have the opportunity to return for another season and continue my development in my hometown with the Austin Bold Family,” said Adamolekun. “I’m truly honored and can’t wait to kick off the season with the team to achieve the goals we’ve set.”

Quintanilla took the field five times during the 2020 season and scored once. The forward joined from fellow Texas side Rio Grande Valley FC, where he spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He made one appearance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup for Houston Dynamo FC during the club’s 2018 cup-winning run. Prior to moving to the United States, Quintanilla played for Santos Laguna and Queretaro’s reserve squads in Mexico.

“I’m very excited to return to this great club for this year,” said Quintanilla. “Since I arrived last year I felt at home. My teammates and the fans treated me very well. I want to do my best to leave a mark on the team.”

Rissi made 11 appearances for Austin during his two previous loan spells from the Brazilian club Cruzeiro. The defender made an immediate impression, scoring his lone goal for Austin in his first start. Rissi spent time in Fluminense FC and Cruzeiro’s youth systems while receiving seven call-ups for the Brazilian National Team U15 and U16 squads.
