HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls II announced on Wednesday the club had signed forward Jeremy Rafanello to a USL Championship contract pending league and federation approval.

Rafanello played for Indy Eleven in the 2020 Championship season, where he appeared in eight matches and recorded one goal.

“Adding Jeremy to our roster is another important step in improving our team and the dynamics of our attack,” NYRB II Head Coach John Wolyniec said. “He is a hard-working forward that brings athleticism, intelligent movement, and a great striker of the ball.”

The Delran, New Jersey native signed his first professional contract with FC Helsingør in Denmark on July 10, 2019. The 20-year-old made two appearances for Reading United A.C. in USL League Two during the 2019 season. “I am extremely excited to join such an amazing organization and start a new chapter in my career,” Rafanello said. “I cannot wait to start the season and give my all for the club, the fans, and my teammates.”

The forward played one season at Pennsylvania State University, where he made 18 appearances and recorded three goals. He was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2018. He made his debut for the United States U-19 Youth National Team on May 7, 2018. He came on as a substitute in the 59th minute during the 2018 Nike International Friendlies.
