What do you think of when you think about the Holiday Season?
Family and friends, probably. Good food and drink, too, and probably presents.
But there’s nothing that says, “I’m here for a good time” like a Holiday Sweater.
Last month, we asked fans on Social Media which clubs they’d like to see our designers create holiday sweaters for, and now you’re going to get to see the results.
From all of us at USL, have a Happy Holidays and New Year, and may a scarf, jersey and tickets for your favorite club be among the presents you get to enjoy in 2021.
The red star in the middle of Hartford Athletic’s logo provides the inspiration for the most distinctive element on this sweater, with the candy cane arms bringing the festive cheer. We’ve all had candy canes around the holidays, but have you ever hooked one over the lip of your morning coffee mug and let it dissolve slowly? You should try that.
Zeke the English mastiff has been a fixture on the sidelines and in the stands since Indy Eleven was founded, so it’s only appropriate that he’s front and center for the sweater for the Boys in Blue. Add in the checkerboard motif that can be found throughout Indy’s designs and you’ve got a piece of apparel that would look good on a member of the Brickyard Battalion or their best four-legged friend.
New crest, sharp sweater. The Fleur-de-lis that has been Louisville City FC’s trademark since joining the Championship gets the spotlight in its Holiday Sweater alongside the new logo that was launched in November. It would be just the thing for a trip to hike up Sugarloaf Mountain during the holidays, followed by a Hot Toddy with some of the finest bourbon Kentucky has to offer in the evening.
One of the most memorable nights at The Lab for New Mexico United fans was the first edition of Meow Wolf Night. That’s provided the inspiration for our United sweater, with strings of Holiday lights draped across the design and Meow Wolf mascot Snaggy front and center. The only question you might have is whether some of those lights might illuminate like Rudolph’s nose, as is customary on fine Holiday sweaters. Let’s imagine they do, eh?
What could make for a better holiday morning in San Diego than to get up early, put on a cup of coffee – remember your candy cane – and take in the sunrise while reclining on the beautiful beaches on the Pacific coast? The top of SD Loyal’s logo has always reminded us of an early morning sunrise, and that’s the centerpiece for the club’s sweater, and replicated on the sleeves for a stylish holiday fit.
It’s been 43 years since downtown St. Petersburg, Florida saw a freak snowstorm in January 1977, so the odds of a White Christmas at Al Lang Stadium are always remote. Instead, a family tradition in this part of the country is to spend part of the holiday at the beach, taking in the sun and the surf. Tampa Bay Rowdies mascot Pete the Pelican gets in on the fun for this sweater, riding the waves on his longboard.
