The last time Joan Cervos saw action prior to this week it was in the colors of Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC as he helped the side earn a 0-0 draw against the soon-to-be Western Conference Finalists in the Switchbacks’ final game at Weidner Field.

The challenge was a slightly more difficult one on Wednesday night as the young defender suited up for his native Andorra for an international exhibition against reigning UEFA European Championship title-holder Portugal, which saw Cervos going up against the likes of Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.

Sitting at No. 145 in the FIFA rankings, Andorra unfortunately proved little more than a warm-up for their more illustrious counterparts in a 7-0 defeat, but in limited opportunities on the ball, Cervos acquitted himself well, completing 6 of 8 passes and making one interception and one recovery.

Andorra is set to play Malta and Latvia in UEFA Nations League action over the remainder of the international window.
