Hartford Signs Israeli Defender Idan Cohen

24-year-old arrives after making 75 appearances for Hapoel Tel Aviv over past three seasons

HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford Athletic announced on Friday it had signed defender Idan Cohen for the remainder of the 2020 USL Championship season, pending league and federation approval.  

Cohen, a right back, most recently played for Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Premier League. He made 75 appearances over the course of three seasons, scoring three goals and assisting on four. He is described by the technical staff as an aggressive defender with good pace providing the team great options in attacking transitions. 

A former U-21 international for Israel, the 24-year-old has made more than 100 professional appearances overall in his career, having also competed for Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam and Hapoel Rishon leZion.
