IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Tuesday it had loaned forward Thomas Enevoldsen to the Hobro IK of the Danish 1st Division through December 31, 2020.

The 2018 Championship MVP Finalist is set to return to Orange County next season after signing a multi-year contract last December that brought him back to the club after competing for Indy Eleven and Sacramento Republic FC in the Championship in the 2019 season.

Enevoldsen had previously finished 2018 tied for second in the Championship with 20 goals while also recording 10 assists in his first year in the United States. After traveling to Denmark for the birth of his first child in July, the club and player mutually agreed to find a suitable loan option in his native country.

“We are pleased to announce the loan deal for Thomas to Hobro IK, a top Danish club, where he can combine his talents and be with his young family,” said OCSC President of Soccer Operations, Oliver Wyss. “Thomas is a first class professional and arguably the most prolific goal scorer in the USL who is missed on our team in this challenging season. We are looking forward to welcoming Thomas and his family back to Orange County next season after a successful loan spell.”
