TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced today the game between New Mexico United and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC scheduled for Saturday, August 15 would be played at Switchbacks FC’s Weidner Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
The contest between the two Southwestern rivals was originally set to be held at the University of New Mexico Soccer Complex. Due to the fluid nature of COVID-19 restrictions across the country, prior to the resumption of the season this month the USL Championship provided provisions in the 2020 season competition structure to allow for teams to play more away matches or more home matches, as necessary, in order to stay in compliance with public health guidelines in their respective markets.
