Championship Player of the Month Nominees – July

Five players produced outstanding performances over a protracted first month, which gets your vote?

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award for July, with top performers from both the opening week of the season in March and resumption of the season in July selected for the ballot.

Voting in the Championship Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51 percent of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, August 10 at 12 p.m. ET.
  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 25 percent of the poll.
  • The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24 percent of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, August 13.

Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

USL Championship Player of the Month – July 2020

Tyler Pasher, Indy Eleven – The Canadian striker recorded six goals in six games to start the 2020 season to take the early lead in the race for the Golden Boot while also leading Indy to five victories.

Solomon Asante, Phoenix Rising FC – The reigning Championship MVP recorded three goals and three assists in four games while also leading the league with 17 chances created.

Kenardo Forbes, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC – The Jamaican playmaker recorded a league-best five assists in four games while also notching 13 chances created as he moved closer to taking the league’s all-time assists record.

Kyle Morton, Saint Louis FC – Morton recorded 20 saves and a pair of shutouts in four outings while posting a save percentage of 86.96 percent, the best of any player to record multiple starts.

Bruno Lapa, Birmingham Legion FC – The USL League Two alum made a stellar start to his professional career with three goals and two assists in his first three games for Legion FC, helping the side make an undefeated start.
