Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (0-0-0) travels to Kentucky to open its season against Louisville City FC (1-0-0) at 5 p.m. this Sunday at Lynn Family Stadium. As the Hounds look to build on last season’s success, here are a few things to look for ahead of Sunday’s matchup.

1.) Revenge

Louisville got the better of the Hounds in last year’s playoffs, winning 2-1 in extra time.

Despite this, the Hounds have had their number in the regular season. The last time Pittsburgh dropped a regular season game to Louisville City FC was in 2017.

Beating the 2019 USL Championship runner-up away from home would be a great way to start building on last season’s success.

2.) The game will be nationally broadcasted on ESPN2

Riverhound SC will have its season opener at Louisville nationally broadcasted on ESPN2. The match will also be aired on ESPN Deportes and the ESPN App.

Sunday’s match will also be the first-ever at Lynn Family Stadium. Louisville has already played one match, in which they defeated North Carolina FC, 1-0, on the road, before the season was suspended this past March.

3.) Regular season point streak

The Hounds have gained a point in each of their last 11 regular season games, and in 17 of their last 19.

Their last regular season loss was at the hands of North Carolina FC on Aug. 17. Before that, they lost in Charlotte on July 7.

With many new faces (13 newcomers), the Hounds look to continue this streak, in hopes of making another playoff run.
