ORANGE COUNTY SC TO RESUME PLAY ON ESPN2 JULY 16th

OCSC set to face Phoenix Rising FC as USL becomes the first American sports league to return to play in its local markets

IRVINE, Calif. (July 2, 2020) — The Orange County Soccer Club will have a national audience when the season resumes, with the club’s first game back, July 16 against Phoenix Rising FC set to air nationally on ESPN2, and on the ESPN App.

"We are so excited for the opportunity to resume the season in front of a national audience and share our exciting brand of OC soccer with fans nationwide", said Orange County SC President of Business Operations, Jeff Garner. "Being on ESPN2 gives us the opportunity to grow our fanbase and represent the league.”

OCSC opened the 2020 season on March 6, with a 0-0 draw at home against El Paso Locomotive FC.

“We are excited and ready to resume our season on July 16 in front of a nationwide audience versus a top quality team,” said OCSC President of Soccer Operations, Oliver Wyss. “After 3 long months with lots of hard work off the field by our staff and players, it is great to finally play competitive games again!”

A full USL Championship on ESPN schedule will be announced in the coming days, in addition to the league’s complete schedule for its return to play in two weeks.
