TULSA, Okla. – At Friday evening’s “I, Too, Am America” Juneteenth celebration in downtown Tulsa, hosted by numerous community organizations, FC Tulsa Head Coach Michael Nsien presented a custom “Juneteenth 19” jersey to be displayed in the Tulsa Juneteeth office.

Nsien, a Tulsa native in his second full season as FC Tulsa’s Head Coach, was be one of many featured at the celebration, including Rev. Al Sharpton, who delivered the keynote address. The night also featured a virtual appearance from Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook.

“I’m extremely honored to participate in the celebration of Juneteenth,” said Nsien. “Juneteenth has typically been a moment for me to reflect and pay homage to all of those that sacrificed and endured so much. This year it’s been different. This year I have been challenged to think about my own contributions to the betterment of life for the future generations. I’m appreciative that I work with an organization that sees the relevance in supporting this celebration and initiative.”
