While there’s no action on the field, there’s always a way to keep your touch in good shape

While the USL Championship is currently under a training moratorium until April 5, teams and players around the league are still finding ways to make sure they’ll be as close to ready to go when teams reconvene to resume the 2020 season.

Clubs have issued their players personalized workout routines to aid their fitness, but in addition to that players are also giving us an inside look at the drills that help them stay sharp – and that can help boost the games of young players – while in isolation.

Here’s a look around the Championship at some of the ways you can stay game-ready while we wait for action to return.

FC Tulsa – Lebo Moloto

Got a wall? Then you’ve got a training partner. Lebo Moloto shows you how to improve your touch with a tennis ball.

Sacramento Republic FC – Villyan Bijev

Republic FC is rolling out fresh skills challenges each day, including this two-touch challenge from Villyan BIjev.

El Paso Locomotive FC – Gabriel Zapponi

Staying flexible is always important at times like these, Locomotive FC assistant coach Gabriel Zapponi has some routines you can do without a ball.

Indy Eleven – Cam Lindley

The local product shows off some nifty footwork as he goes around the world even with a roof over his head.

Hartford Athletic – Lucas Kruel

Come for the fitness routine from the Athletic’s Strength and Fitness Coach Lucas Kruel, stay for the online banter in the comments between Men In Blazers’ Michael Davis and NBC Sports’ Rebecca Lowe.

Birmingham Legion FC – Bruno Lapa

Isolation can be the mother of invention for players. Birmingham Legion FC’s Bruno Lapa has a challenge for you with a mini-ball and a waste paper basket.

Louisville City FC – Mario Sanchez

Louisville City U-23 Head Coach Mario Sanchez has some drills that also provide proper social distancing protocols for two players.

New Mexico United – Kalen Ryden

As with everything in life, perfect technique needs practice. Kalen Ryden’s got us – and his healthy breakfast – covered with a unique passing drill.
