Hounds set to compete in USL eCup: Rocket League Edition

PITTSBURGH (March 25, 2020) – Announced today by the United Soccer League, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will compete in the USL eCup: Rocket League Edition.

This Rocket League esports tournament will consist of 32 total teams, representing clubs from the USL Championship and USL League One. The entire tournament will run from April 1 through April 25.

Midfielder Kenardo Forbes will represent the Hounds, which have their first battle scheduled at 4 p.m. on April 1 against Rio Grande Valley FC. Pittsburgh will later clash with San Antonio FC and El Paso Locomotive FC in the group stage.

The group stage will run from April 1 through April 10, and the knockout rounds will be held from April 13 through April 25.

Every match in the USL eCup will be streamed live on the ESPN family of networks via the ESPN app or ESPN.com.

Launched in 2015, Rocket League has become one of the premier games in esports and won Best Sports Game at E3 in 2015. With a head-to-head format that models the game of soccer, it sees players navigate their vehicles to direct the ball toward the net and score goals.
