McLaughlin on target against Bold FC; New ticket packages now on sale

EDINBURG, Texas –Before getting things going for the 2020 USL Championship season, Rio Grande Valley FC continues to work hard this preseason to make a difference on the field as the club looks to earn a place in the 2020 USL Championship Playoffs at the end of the upcoming campaign.

That preparation included a preseason outing last weekend against Copa Tejas rival Austin Bold FC, where the Toros earned a 2-2 draw on the road at Bold Stadium. The Toros’ took a two-goal lead against their experienced opponents, with a Toros trialist and Garrett McLaughlin each finding the net for the visitors. Austin fought back to earn a draw, but there was plenty that Head Coach Gerson Echeverry was pleased with from the encounter against one of last year’s playoff sides.

While the Toros battled against Austin, Isidro Martinez represented the 956 with the Houston Dynamo as it took a 4-0 victory against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night in the Visit Tucson Sun Cup in Arizona. The Brownsville native earned minutes off the bench in the Dynamo’s big win, coming on for Matias Vera. Martinez’s continued presence with the Dynamo this preseason is a big positive for the Toros playmaker, who put himself on Houston’s radar with eight assists in his rookie season with RGVFC in 2019.

TICKETS 4 TOROS: Following the arrival of new Toros President Ron Patel, the club is looking to fill the stands and show the entire USL Championship the spirit of the Valley. With that in mind, the club has created new ticket plans that include great opportunities for fans to take advantage of.

The Toros 6-Game Mini Plan – also known as the Best in the West Plan “Juntos Ganamos” – includes a free t-shirt and tickets to the biggest games on the schedule, including the visits of San Antonio FC for the South Texas Derby, and new USL Championship club San Diego Loyal SC, led by Head Coach Landon Donovan.

As an added incentive for the 6-Game Plan, if the Toros earn 10 points in the six games included in the package, members will receive a seventh game this season for free.

Want season tickets for your family? The Toros have got you covered. The Toros Family 4-Pack includes not only two adult and two child season ticket memberships, but also a Kids Club swag bag, one free summer soccer clinic for the children, and all regular season membership benefits.

Love the entertainment that surrounds the game? Say no more. The Toros’ Fan Experience is a package that includes pregame performances, presentation of the United States flag, national anthem, Dream Team, Bench Warmers, rally tunnel, pre- and post-match meet and greet, halftime performance and an exclusive post-match photo.

With the new season just two weeks away, the Toros are eager to bring the stands at H-E-B Park to life with the help of their passionate supporters throughout the 2020 season. It all kicks off with the club’s home opener on Sunday, March 8 as RGVFC hosts the LA Galaxy II (Buy Season Tickets Here) (Buy Single Game Tickets Here).
