Local product Lindley signs with Indy; Lachowecki returns to Rowdies’ roster

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico United announced on Friday it had signed attacking midfielder Andrew Tinari for the 2020 USL Championship season.

“Andrew will add a different dimension to our midfield. He has an exceptional ability of being able to control the rhythm and tempo of a match,” said New Mexico Head Coach Troy Lesesne. “He knows when to slow down the pace, but more importantly knows when to break lines and go forward with a purpose. We’ve very excited to have him in black & yellow this season.”

Tinari has spent the past three seasons in the USL Championship, spending two years with the New York Red Bulls II and the 2019 campaign with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The 24-year-old has recorded 14 goals and 11 assists in 84 appearances in the league overall, while ranking third in the Championship over the past three seasons with 207 chances created.

“I’m so grateful and excited to be a part of this state and club,” said Tinari. “Now it’s time to get to work.”

Prior to joining the Red Bulls II, Tinari competed collegiately at Columbia University, where he made 62 appearances, scored 9 goals and notched 10 assists. He was named Ivy League Rookie of The Year in 2013 and and to the First Team All-Ivy League three times. During his college career, he also competed for USL League Two’s Jersey Express.

LOCAL STANDOUT LINDLEY JOINS INDY: Indy Eleven didn’t have to look far for the latest addition to its roster, as it announced on Thursday the signing of midfielder and Carmel, Indiana native Cam Lindley

“Cam Lindley is one of the most talented players to come out of Central Indiana in recent years, so it’s very nice to be able to bring him home and have another local talent we can feature,” said Indy Head Coach Martin Rennie. “Cam brings real technical ability and a willingness to create, and we are excited to see where he will fit into what is a very deep and talented corps of midfielders.”

Lindley was a standout for Guerin Catholic High School (2016 graduate) and numerous Indiana Fire Juniors squads before playing two years collegiately at the University of North Carolina from 2016-17. Following a 2017 sophomore season that saw him rack up seven goals and 13 assists, the ACC Midfielder of the Year award, and a First-Team All-ACC Team honor, Lindley turned professional and was signed by Major League Soccer’s Orlando City SC ahead of the 2018 season.

“I am super excited to be coming home and playing for my hometown team in front of my friends and family,” said Lindley. “I know playing for Indy Eleven will help me grow as a player, and I am looking forward to being a part of one of the top clubs in the USL Championship.”

LACHOWECKI RETURNS TO ROWDIES: The Tampa Bay Rowdies announced on Friday the return of defender Max Lachowecki for the 2020 USL Championship season. Lachowecki played for the Rowdies in 2018, appearing in 16 contests, before taking a hiatus from professional soccer last year.

“I’m delighted to bring Max back to the club,” said Rowdies Head Coach and Technical Director Neill Collins. “He phoned me back around October for advice because he missed playing the game and I thought it was only right to give him a chance to spend preseason with us. From day one, he’s been working incredibly hard and he’s got a renewed sense of purpose that will really help us this season.”

Prior to joining the Rowdies, Lachowecki played two seasons with the Championship’s Real Monarchs SLC after being drafted No. 25 overall by Real Salt Lake in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. In his time with the Monarchs, Lachowecki helped guide the club to a USL Championship Regular Season Title, making 33 appearances in 2017.

"I’m stoked to be back in St. Pete,” said Lachowecki. “I’m well aware of how special this club is to the city.  I feel fortunate to be playing the game I love once again, and have every intention of adding to the winning culture of the Rowdies.”
