ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 9, 2020)  -- The Tampa Bay Rowdies 2020 USL Championship schedule is now set, with opponents and dates confirmed by the league Thursday afternoon.

The regular season will behind the weekend of March 5-7 and conclude the weekend of October 16-18 before the USL Championship playoffs kick off.

The Rowdies will play a 34-game schedule, with 32 games comprised of a home match and an away match against each of their 16 Eastern Conference rivals. The remaining two matches will see Tampa Bay play a third time against two Eastern Conference teams. One of those flex matches is home against New York Red Bulls II and one is away against Miami FC.

Monday, the Rowdies announced they will open the season March 7 on the road against New York, then visit Miami on March 13, before hosting North Carolina FC in their home opener March 21. The rest of the schedule is now confirmed. 

Tampa Bay will play two regular season matches on national TV, with the March 27 home game against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds slated for live Spanish-language coverage on ESPN Deportes and the June 3 visit to Memphis 901 FC televised live on ESPNews.

Tampa Bay’s 17-match home slate feature 15 Saturday night matches under the lights at Al Lang Stadium, including the return of a traditional Fourth of July home match. Kickoff times will be confirmed in the near future.

Highlights of the home slate include the home opener against North Carolina FC on March 21, a visit from cross-state rivals Miami FC on August 8 and a match against three-time defending Eastern Conference champions Louisville City FC on August 29. Tampa Bay will close the regular season with back-to-back home games against New York and Birmingham Legion FC on October 10 and 17, respectively.
