SIGNING: Jack Barmby Makes Move to Phoenix Rising FC

Midfielder has recorded 15 goals in 65 appearances during Championship career

PHOENIX – Phoenix Rising FC added another new face for the 2020 USL Championship season on Tuesday afternoon with the arrival of English midfielder Jack Barmby. The signing is pending league and federation approval and per club policy, the terms of the contract will not be made public.
 
“I’m really looking forward to getting into the season to progress on what the club has achieved in previous years,” Barmby said. “I look forward to meeting all the supporters.”
 
Barmby most recently played with fellow USL Championship side San Antonio FC, where he recorded single-season highs with 32 appearances, eight goals and five assists in the 2019 regular season.
 
The 25-year-old spent the previous three seasons in the Portland Timbers organization, suiting up for both the Timbers and Timbers 2. He appeared in 32 matches and scored seven goals for T2 in the USL Championship side and scored one goals in 29 appearances for the Timbers.

Barmby signed his first professional contract with Manchester United in 2013 when he was 18 years old. A former England U-20 international, Barmby had loan spells with English clubs Hartlepool United, Rotherham United, and Notts County before making the move to the United States in 2016.
