RENO, Nev. – There might be no better feeling than going on the road and beating a serious rival in the first postseason meeting between your two clubs, so this weekend for Sacramento Republic FC might have been the best of its season so far.
A vocal contingent from the Tower Bridge Battalion made the two-hour drive from Papa Murphy’s Park to Greater Nevada Field on Saturday morning and made its presence felt as No. 7 seed Republic FC rallied from an early deficit to take a 3-1 victory against No. 2 seed Reno 1868 FC to reach the Western Conference Semifinals of the 2019 USL Championship Playoffs.
As you might expect, there was plenty of social media activity before, during and after Saturday night’s contest.
