USL Championship Discipline Report – Playoffs Week 1

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 1 of the 2019 USL Championship Playoffs:

Austin Bold FC’s Kleber was suspended for four games following his red card for spitting at an opponent against Real Monarchs SLC on October 16. Kleber served the first game of his suspension against Tacoma Defiance on October 19 and will be unavailable for Austin’s Play-In Round contest against the LA Galaxy II on Wednesday night. Should Austin advance, Kleber could serve the remaining two games of his suspension this postseason, with the earliest he would be available a potential Western Conference Final.

Fresno FC’s Qudus Lawal and Ramon Martin del Campo have each been suspended for one game following their red cards for two cautionable offenses and denial of a goalscoring opportunity, respectively, against Orange County SC on October 19. Lawal and Del Campo will both be unavailable for Fresno’s Western Conference Quarterfinal against El Paso Locomotive FC on Saturday night.

Ottawa Fury FC’s Dakota Barnathan has been suspended for one game following his red card for two cautionable offenses against the Charlotte Independence on October 19. Barnathan will be unavailable for Ottawa’s Play-In Round contest against the Charleston Battery on Wednesday night.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Malik Johnson has been suspended for one game following his red card for two cautionable offenses against Hartford Athletic on October 19. Johnson will be unavailable for Tampa Bay’s Eastern Conference Quarterfinal against Louisville City FC on Saturday night.

San Antonio FC’s Walter Restrepo has been suspended for three games following his red card for abusive language against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on October 19. Restrepo will serve his suspension during his first three games of the 2020 season.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Abdul Rwatubyaye has been suspended for one game following his red card for denial of a goalscoring opportunity against San Antonio FC on October 19. Rwatubyaye will serve his suspension during his first game of the 2020 season.

ATL UTD 2 assistant coach Andrew Roberts has been suspended for one game following his dismissal from the technical area for irresponsible behavior against Nashville SC on October 19. Roberts will serve his suspension in the opening game of the 2020 season.

Birmingham Legion FC’s Kyle Culbertson was suspended for one game following his red card for denial of a goalscoring opportunity against the New York Red Bulls II on October 16. Culbertson served his suspension against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on October 20.

Austin Bold FC Head Coach Marcelo Serrano was suspended for one game following his dismissal from the technical area for irresponsible behavior against Real Monarchs SLC on October 16. Serrano served his suspension against Tacoma Defiance on October 19.

New Mexico United’s Kevaughn Frater was issued a two-game suspension for caution accumulation following his 11th yellow card of the season against Tacoma Defiance on October 16. Frater served the opening game of the suspension against Las Vegas Lights FC on October 19. Under league caution accumulation rules pertaining to the postseason, the remaining game was vacated, and Frater will be available for selection in New Mexico’s Play-In Round game against Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday night.

El Paso Locomotive FC’s Richie Ryan, the LA Galaxy II’s Nick DePuy and Carlos Harvey, and Sacramento Republic FC’s Mitchell Taintor and Jordan McCrary all reached caution accumulation marks in their final game of the regular season and were fined, but will be available for their respective club’s opening game in the 2019 USL Championship Playoffs.

OKC Energy FC’s Atiba Harris, the Portland Timbers 2’s Adrian Diz Pe and Max Ornstil, the Charlotte Independence’s Enzo Martinez, San Antonio FC’s Pecka, and Tulsa Roughnecks FC’s Fredlin Mompremier all reached caution accumulation marks in their final game of the regular season and were issued fines.
