TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award for September, with top performers from the past month of the 2019 season selected for the ballot.
Voting in the USL Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:
The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, October 10.
Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selections process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.
USL Championship Player of the Month – September 2019
Devon Sandoval, New Mexico United – Sandoval recorded six goals, including a pair of game-winners, had three key passes and completed 74 of 94 passes overall to help keep NMU in the hunt for the postseason.
Cam Lindley, Memphis 901 FC – Lindley recorded a league-best five assists in September and notched 16 chances created while completing 214 of 253 passes overall (85.2 percent) to lead 901 FC to four wins in the month.
Joe Greenspan, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC – Greenspan played every minute as the Hounds recorded five consecutive shutouts in the month, and made 33 clearances, 31 recoveries, eight interceptions and scored one goal.
Danny Musovski, Reno 1868 FC – Musovski led the league with eight goals, averaging a goal every 47.6 minutes, and also notched one assist and four chances created in September while completing 10 of 14 dribbles.
Wilson Harris, Swope Park Rangers – Harris recorded six goals in September, averaging a goal every 76 minutes, while also recording four key passes and completing 64 of 88 passes overall in the Rangers’ best month of the season.
