Frederik Due signs with the club for the remainder of the 2019 season

IRVINE, Calif.  – Orange County announced today the arrival of Danish goalkeeper Frederik Due, pending league and federation approval. He transfers to the club from USL club Hartford Athletic.

“I’m very happy that we’ve been able to secure Frederik,” said Orange County SC head coach, Braeden Cloutier. “He has played at the top level in Denmark and comes highly recommended. From what we have seen through scouting, he will fit perfectly with how our team is set up.”

The Danish import, joins OCSC from Hartford after 3 seasons with Randers of the Danish Superliga. The 27-year old spent 5 years with HB Køge of the Danish First League prior to joining Randers. Due totaled 37 clean sheets in his 8 seasons in Denmark.

“I am so excited to be here, I can't wait to get started,” Said Due. “I'm going to do all I can to ensure that the club makes the playoffs.”

“We are pleased to add a very experienced goalkeeper in Frederik to our roster as we are pushing for the playoffs,” said OCSC President of Soccer Operations, Oliver Wyss. “Frederik is a top-notch professional on and off the field and he will add depth to our Goalkeeper position, especially with Aaron Cervantes being in contention to make the US 17 MNT World Cup roster.”

Due is eligible to make his debut for the club this weekend at home against Real Monarchs SLC.
