On a day that was about much more than soccer, Hartford Athletic and the Puerto Rico National Team took the field for the first ever international friendly in club history.

In front of 4,685 fans, Hartford Athletic and the Puerto Rico National Team came together to raise money for hurricane relief efforts. The party started well before the match and carried into a festive pregame ceremony. The captain Wojtek Wojcik opened the account on the day with a lethal finish on a beautiful through ball from Sebastian Dalgaard in the 25th minute. Puerto Rico quickly answered in the 27th minute as Gerard Diaz put one away. A back and forth first half ended knotted at 1-1.

Hartford Athletic would distance itself in the second half with Brass Bonanza ringing throughout Dillon Stadium another four times before the end of the match on goals from: Angulo (58’), Jorgensen (68’), Dalgaard (72’), and Barrera (86’).

Hartford Athletic will be back in action on Saturday August 24th at 5 PM at Dillon Stadium for $2 Beer Night. Tickets start at just $16. Click here to purchase tickets to the match.
