LEESBURG, Va. – Loudoun United FC’s new home at Segra Field will officially open on Friday night when the first-year USL Championship club plays host to the Charlotte Independence (7:30 p.m. ET | ESPN+).

This past Saturday, however, the club welcomed numerous local dignitaries and representatives from D.C. United for an official ribbon cutting ceremony, giving a sneak peek at what fans could expect from the 5,000-seat venue as it becomes the club’s permanent home.

Among the guest speakers at the event was Dave Johnson, longtime television voice of D.C. United, and they were joined by D.C. United CEO and managing general owner Jason Levien, Loudoun United Chief Operations Officer Adam Behnke, Loudoun County Department of Economic Development Executive Director Buddy Rizer, Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman and County Chairwoman Phyllis Randall, along with almost every Loudoun County supervisor.

The stadium will be joined in the next year by a new training facility that will be shared by Loudoun United and D.C. United, with the $15 million development set to be completed next summer.

Here are some of the sights from the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
