TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award for July, with top performers from the past month of the 2019 season selected for the ballot.

Voting in the USL Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51 percent of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, August 5 at 12 p.m. ET.
  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 25 percent of the poll.
  • The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24 percent of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, August 8.

Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selections process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

USL Championship Player of the Month – July 2019

Corey Hertzog, Reno 1868 FC – Hertzog scored four goals, recorded seven key passes and completed 98 of 127 passes to help Reno in a five-game winning streak that pushed it into the top two in the West.

Frank Lopez, San Antonio FC – Lopez recorded four goals and one assist between the LA Galaxy II and the start of his loan stint with San Antonio as SAFC pushed its way back into the playoff picture.

Jared Stroud, New York Red Bulls II – Stroud had four goals, two assists, 15 key passes and created three Big Chances for the Eastern Conference contender as it continued its strong season.

Michael Seaton, Orange County SC – Seaton had three goals and two assists, completed 8 of 13 dribbles and recorded six key passes over the course of the month to help keep Orange County in the playoff picture

Sebastian Guenzatti, Tampa Bay Rowdies – Guenzatti recorded three goals, two assists, six shots on target and six key passes to help keep the Rowdies at the top of the Eastern Conference.
