HARTFORD, Conn. – Hartford Athletic announced on Thursday it had acquired attacking midfielder Daniel Bedoya on loan from Major League Soccer’s New York City FC for the remainder of the 2019 USL Championship season.
A former USL League Two standout with the Long Island Rough Riders, Bedoya signed with NYCFC last August after a successful trial at the club following a closed-door scrimmage between the Rough Riders and NYCFC.
The 25-year-old has made two appearances this season for NYCFC, featuring in its victory against the Championship’s North Carolina FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and making his MLS debut on June 29 against the Philadelphia Union.
A former member of the New York Red Bulls Academy, Bedoya made 25 appearances for the New York Red Bulls II in the club’s inaugural season in the USL Championship in 2015. He also previously played for St. John’s University, where he made 36 appearances in his college career.
Bedoya’s loan includes the right of recall by NYCFC at any point of the agreement.
