Roughnecks Bring Aboard Prasad

Former Whitecaps Academy defender made international debut for Fiji early in 2019

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Tuesday the acquisition of defender Nicholas Prasad from SpVgg Bayreuth, a German club in the Regionalliga Bayern Football League. Prasad appeared in three matches this past season for SpVgg Bayreuth having previously competed for Seattle University collegiately.

A native of Edmonton, Canada, Prasad came through the development academy of Vancouver Whitecaps FC and made 23 appearances for the club’s Development Academy U-18 side in his final season in 2013. Prasad also made five appearances, recording one goal and one assist, for Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-23 in USL League Two in the 2014 season.

Prasad made 61 appearances for the RedHawks collegiately and recorded two goals and five assists over his first two seasons for the program. More recently, he was called into the Fiji national football team for friendlies against New Caledonia and Mauritius. On March 18, 2019 he made his debut against New Caledonia and recorded an assist as Fiji claimed a 3-0 victory.
